Conner 6 Months

Monday was Conner's 6 month birthday. I can't believe that it has already been 6 months! The time is going by toooooo fast! He is the cutest little baby and so happy and easy going. He can roll accross the room and sit up by himself. He loves all and I mean ALL of the food that we give him. He absolutely ADORES his older brother ( I am still trying to understand this ;)! I love watching the two of them wrestle with each other. (it always starts out cute and by the end someone, mainly Conner, is crying - but boys will be boys and we will embrace the wrestling!I repeat this to myself on a daily basis.) We are lucky to have him as part of our family.

Here are Conners 6 month stats.
Weight 17 lbs 1 oz (42 %)
Height 27 inches (75 %)

We have are making a tradition that started with Joel and has continued with Conner (mostly because I think it was cute!) of having 1/2 a birthday cake on the 6 month birthday. So, here is Conner's 1/2 birthday cake. I think making it to 6 months is an accomplishment (especially if mom is sane enough to remember). When I was planning this out I remember letting Joel go to town on the cake and know I am thinking - what was I thinking letting a 6 month old eat cake! Well, if any of it makes it to thier mouth - its amazing - and it didn't kill Joel so I decided what the heck - and let Conner go at his cake too. So, here is the replay by pictures and my cheesy comments!

Mmmm the yummy 1/2 cake!
Conner's first glimpse of it! Like I said -- he loves food!
Alright!!! - a smile with his cake and frosting on the fingers!
Now you can destroy it!
The real eating of the cake (with no frosting)

Then we looked over and this is what we saw. It cracked me up!
Conked out asleep in his high chair!

We hope the next 6 months are as fun as these last have been. It will be fun to see how much Conner learns and grows!

Family Pictures

Being the one taking the pictures, it is hard to actually be in them! So, a very good friend of mine and I did a family picture swap! I took their pictures, they took ours. I LOVE the way they turned out! We went out to Mike's aunt and uncle's house and had fun with the tractors and trucks. I think we got the better end of the deal though. Their little boy was so cute and actually stood still! They got to have fun with a baby that has cheeks that drag his face down ;) and a toddler who won't hold still! They did a wonderful job! Thanks Alli and Kyle! Can't wait to get these ones up on the wall!

Thanks again Kyle and Alli! I'll post some more of them later. Also, to see a couple of the ones I took go here.

Sporting New Wheels!

Joel got a new set of wheels this last weekend--- which means there are NO BINKIE'S at our house anymore! Yeah! Now, you may ask how it was finally done. Well, I wish I had an amazingly cool story. I don't. Joel just decided one day  about 2 weeks ago that he was done and hasn't used one for over 2 weeks now. This is kinda the way Joel works you just have to wait him out sometimes. We are very proud of him, and have enjoyed watching him ride his new bike.

Joel and Conner Photo Shoot!

My sister-in-law and I took the kids down to the park and took some of their pictures. This is Conners 5 month pictures and Joel's 2 1/2 year old pictures. It was very interesting trying to get pictures of 2 toddlers, one 5 month old, and one 2 month old, but all in all, I think they turned out okay! Here are the pictures of my two boys. I loved the first one, because Joel, in general, attempts to be nice to his brother, but it often ends up like this!

And one just to make you laugh! More than one of Joel's looked like this! What can I say ... boys will be boys!

Happy # 4!

Yesterday marked year # 4 for Mike and I. So, Happy Anniversary Honey! It was so fun to remember back to four years ago and think about what we were doing at the time and how young we were (even though we are still young and in love!). So what has happened in the last year since I did this last. We bought a house, finished a basement, still working on the yard, and added a new member of the family. Pretty good for just a year I'd say. We had fun yesterday. We went to the temple and then went out to eat at Wingers. The Concrete Pie was very delicious by the way! So, once again, happy anniversary and here is to a whole new year!

Family Vacation!!!

23Last week we went on a family vacation to Washington to visit Aunt Cathy (Mike's sister),
Uncle Blair and their girls. We loaded the kids in the car Sunday right after a baby blessing we went to and drove for 15 hours arriving at Cathy's house in Gig Harbor at 1:30 in the morning! Both kids surprised us on how well they travelled. We enjoyed lots of movies and treats and a few stops along the way. On Monday we just hung around Gig Harbor and enjoyed seeing what there was to see there. We went to a very nice memorial service at the local cemetery and then went and saw the harbor. Later that day we took the Kayak out and Mike and Joel rode around the harbor.
Joel's cousins taught him what Jelly Fish were okay to hold and which ones were dangerous ... so Joel got to hold his first Jelly Fish! He thought it was very cool!

Tuesday we took to the car again and drove over to Ocean Shores and went to the beach. It was cold and rainy, but that didn't stop us tough Idahoans from going out! :)! I loved this picture of my boys!

We also went and saw a lighthouse for me. We can't be by the ocean and not stop to see one of my favorite things! Unfortunately it was closed, so we only got to walk around the outside.

Wednesday we took the ferry into Seattle and went to the aquarium and to the science museum. We looked at everything from fish to dinosaurs. Joel had a really fun time, and Mike and I weren't all that bored either ;)!

Thursday we spent time relaxing again. We went to a very yummy Chinese buffet with Cathy and Blair and then went and visited my Aunt Ann and Uncle Mike and had a wonderful dinner there and watched some of the baseball game before Joel told us it was time to go! We then packed up and headed home on Friday. We had a wonderful time and thanks to Cathy and Blair for letting us stay with them!
