A Boy and His Chainsaw!

I found this little toy at a garage sale last week and knew it was just the thing for a certain 3 year old that has wanted a leaf blower since Christmas! It was just right up his alley! And it was love at first sight!
The first thing he said when I gave it to him and after he figured out how it worked was "I need to go to Grandma and Grandpa's house and show Grandpa my new chainsaw!" (Grandpa has one that looks very similar) So off to Grandma and Grandpa's we went.  The next day we were over at Grandpa's with the new chainsaw and he decided that he wanted to go and cut down some trees. Well, after about 10 minutes he came in with big huge tears rolling down his cheeks- just devastated! We asked him what was wrong and he told us that he couldn't cut down anything with his chainsaw. It wouldn't cut. It was so cute because he thought his chainsaw was the real thing and was devastated to realize it wasn't the real thing ! I just hugged him and LAUGHED! How could you not?! We had to explain to him that it was just a toy that he could practice with until he was bigger.
So practice he has! We got a log from Grandpa's and he play's with it everyday -- and is still trying to find things that he can really cut with it. (He has already ruled out his brother ;))!

It was such a nice day that we went outside and played! Joel was over having his picture taken but Conner wasn't! So here are a few pictures of Conner too!

What's in a name?

I love having a three year old and their very good imagination around! Before we knew we were having a little girl we would ask Joel what our baby was doing to be. Every time he said a girl (sometimes it comes out as a grill). Then we would ask him what we should name the baby. Depending on the day his answer would be either Snakey or Wormy. We always laughed and thought it was hilarious! So sure enough -- he was right on one account! We're having a girl. However, we are not naming her Snakey or Wormy. We were shopping for little girl things after we found out and I told Joel that we need to decide on a name for our baby girl. He replied with (in his most know it all voice) "Mom, we dooo. It's Snakey!" I came home and told Mike that we needed to decide on a name so we could get Joel to think of a different name other than Wormy or Snakey. We have had a name that we have liked for over a year now, but were hesitant because Mike's cousin used it a few months ago, but after a LOT of looking nothing else seemed right so we decided to go with it (at least for the time being with the prerogative to change our minds). So now we have Joel saying that we are having baby Lilah. Which in my opinion, is a much better name than Snakey or Wormy!!! Even though at first he was very opposed to our choice in names and thought his was much better. And we still have a lot of fun hunting for all these cute baby girl things that I can actually look at now! Its so fun!

Playtime Outside!!!

We have had a very long winter with spring as a maybe, so the other day when it was actually nice enough to go outside we took advantage of it! Here are just some fun pictures of the kids playing. I loved Joel because he put his pants on backwards and I didn't even notice it until we were leaving the store. He tried so hard to get them on right that I didn't have the heart to change it - so he played like that all day long!
