First Day of School AHHHHHH!

This is Mikey's first day of his very last semester of school!!! Yeah! We got him all dressed up in his new school clothes and took his first day of school picture! We are very glad to be back in Idaho, but Mike is not excited to be back in school. But, don't feel too bad for him because he is only taking 12 credits and two of those are billards and bowling! I think he will have fun! Even in that English class that he is dreading sooo much!

Our very own room!

Well, I have been asked to explain exactly how we have been living this summer. So, since we are leaving for home tommorrow- I thought I would explain. We rent out a room in a house (like a boarding house). We have our own room and we share the kitchen and living areas with our other housemates. This summer there was 7 adults, 4 inside dogs, and a baby (Joel)! It sounds like a soap opera, but we all got along really well and had a fun time this summer. Here are some pictures of our room and a very cute picture of Joel- he climbed in the basket himself - and he loves to smile for the camera!

Joel's First Camping Trip

Well, this is how Joel's first camping trip started out. It was supposed to be a nice sunny, very hot 100 degree day. Instead, we got a very nice hard rain. Not a great way to start a camping trip. So up to the mountains we go, and come to find out there was a campfire ban for two of the national forests here in Washington (while it was raining!)

What! No campfire!!! Not for us.

So what do we do? We drive and drive some more to another national forest that did not have a fireban. However, it was freezing!
Because of the impending rain, Mike and one of our former housemates rigged up a cover using the two vehicles

-- and needless to say, I don't know if the campfire smell is ever going to come out of our car!

A beautiful view from our campsite!

Joel was very excited to get put down in the tent! In the two weeks its been since he last wore his shoes (which were too big!) he has completely out grown them! So he got to be held almost the entire time since he likes to eat everything on the ground -- like dirt, and weeds, and rocks!

And finally, our family picture in front of Mt. Rainer
