My Curly Haired Boy

Mike is going to be jealous! His son has curly hair. Mike has wanted curly hair his whole life and now his son has it. The look on Joel's face makes me laugh -- its "mom, what are you doing to me?" kind of look. I have a feeling I will get those quite often throughout his life! I gave Joel his bath today, which he loved, and got out a little gel to see if his hair would stay curly. It did! I thought it was cute.

Look What Santa Left In My Stocking

Santa left a special present in my stocking! Isn't he cute? Mike stuffed him in his stocking and put him under the tree and Joel slept through the whole thing! We didn't think he would fit because he's getting so big (he already weighed 9lbs at his 2 week Dr. visit), but Mike managed it. I like getting presents like this!

Off Road Adventures

Hi Everyone, My dad gave me this truck when I came home from my mission. There was only one catch, I had to get it running. As you can see from the video, it runs great now but every time I take the truck out in the hills I seem to break something. This outing was no different, I just got it on tape this time. If you watch closely once I am nearing the top of the hill you can hear a pop and a small cloud of debris comes out from the passenger side front tire when the axle breaks. But the old girl continues to climb in spite of the wound. She is a good old truck.

More Pictures and stories!

Well you all asked for labor stories, and I am trying to forget it!!! But, here is the story. My water broke on Thursday morning at 4:15a.m. (we was exactly a week late!) We went to the hospital and a couple hours later, nothing changed. So, they started the pitocin and a couple hours after that when it started to work I got an epideral. It's a wonderful thing when it works!!!! When they put it in they hit a nerve and my leg and arm shot straight out. I almost clobbered Mike! It made the right side of my body go numb, but the left side didn't. I had to lay on my side and let it drain into that part of my body. Then about the time it was time to push the epideral stopped working all together. Yes, after this it was all natural. It can be done, I just don't recommend it! He had a hard time coming because his head is soo big. They tried to use a vacuum to get his out, but it didn't work-it popped right off. They ended up doing an episiotomy which tore as well (which means I am still really sore), and after 45 minutes, he was born! So that's the story. Mike was excellent throughout the whole thing! I couldn't ask for a better husband! He even used my own strategies against me to keep me going- I knew exactly what he was doing, and it worked!
Enjoy the pictures - they are the latest and greatest!

These pictures were just too cute not to share!

This is my favorite picture. Joel had his first bath, and boy was he mad about it. Through out the rest of the day when he was sleeping, he would get this look like he was going to cry- I think he was having nightmares about his bath!

We call this Joel's owl hat because we think he looks like and owl in it! A very good friend had these made in England when she went back for a visit and gave them to Joel. Isn't it cute!!!

Proof that his dad tortured Joel from his fist week of life!

Mike, Joel and I had our first family home evening on Monday. We set up our Christmas tree and decorated it. And, of course the camera came out!

And Now Presenting.... Joel

Well, it finally happened! Michael Joel Bailey was born on Thursday November 29, 2007at 9:14 p.m. He was 7lb. 14 oz. He is, in my biased opinion, the cutest thing in the whole world. He has a lot of really blonde hair, Mike's ears, and my nose. Enjoy the pictures and we will keep adding more on as we get them!

Waiting and Waiting and Waiting and Waiting and.....

WAITING!
Well, I am posting the only picture I have of this baby so far. He has decided to take after his mom and come very very late! Here is the update: We went to the doctor on Monday and I was told three different times by three different people that this baby was perfectly content. It was not exactly what I wanted to hear! So, we are going to wait and see if anything will happen on its own this week. If not the doctor says this baby is coming on Tuesday because he will be two weeks late, and that is late enough. So stay tuned for real pictures! In the meantime here is a picture of the baby's face. Mike and I are arguing over the nose. Mine or Mike's??? Hopefully we find out next week!

Mikey's First Attempt at Bannana Bread

I will start out by saying that part of this was my fault. I tricked Mike into making Bannana Bread. He loves it! This story was just too funny not to share and I got pictures!!!
Mike making the dough (and getting mad at me for sneaking in the camera- Life is never dull at the Bailey house!)

The Bannana bread spilled a little in the oven so we put a pan full of water underneath to catch what was spilling.

Yes, this next picture is of the fire that started in our oven! It set off the smoke alarm that is down the hall and made our house smell like burnt oven for a couple of days.

And, finally, a very yummy bannana bread made by Mike!

My Craft Projects!!!

With the extra time I have (hahaha) I have been doing craft projects (mostly for Christmas so I don't have to worry about it right after the baby comes). Here are a few of them. These are block letters that I did for the different holidays:

This one is a candle with tissue paper that has been printed on mod podged to the candle. It was easy and fun. I have plans of doing a nativity set with candles.

These last ones are pictures of hot chocolate holders. You put hot chocolate and a candy cane or chocolate stick in the pocket. Great presents for neighbors!!

I have been having fun! And it's just the beginning. I feel like its Christmas already because of the Christmas stuff I have been doing. I always thought that the Christmas season needed to last a little longer!!!!

Conference Weekend

What a weekend! Staying in your pajamas all day is my favorite part! Mike and I went down to Salt Lake for his mission reunions. Both mission presidents had reunions. It was fun to see faces to the names in the stories that I have heard! We came back to Idaho through the snow and had Mike's mom, dad, and grandma over for dinner on Sunday. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed conference!

Let it snow, Let it snow

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!!!

It finally snowed on Saturday! It was a real snowstorm! I love the snow. I am already for Christmas and snowmobiling now! The only problem is that it didn't really stick and what stuck quickly melted away! I would get out all my sweaters if I could fit in them, but as it stands now, I can fit into about 3 jackets that get worn quite frequently!!! We had an exciting experience.
Note to all: Pull the couch away from the wall heater before turning on heater for first time!
Yes, the back of our couch is melted thanks to an overactive heater and the fact that it got pushed against the wall during our moving stint! So Beware, extreme heat will melt your couch!!!

England

Hi everyone!

We had the wonderful opportunity to go to England this spring. We stayed 4 days in London and saw everything we could possibly fit in! Our favorite place in London was St. Paul's Cathederal. We toured the inside and then literally ran up over 400 spiral stairs so we could go to the top balcony! It was an amazing view! We also went to see the British Museum, National Gallary, Tower of London, the London Bridge, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, and the Science Museum (for Mike!). After London we stayed 2 days in Birmingham and the went north to Penrith and toured as many castles as we could. We also spent one day in Scotland and went to the Edinburough Castle. We had a once in a lifetime experience and wanted to share some of our memories! Here's a very few pictures (I think we took over 1000 pictures) to share!
