Joel and His First Primary Program

I love Joel and his little personality. It makes for some entertaining and sometimes slightly embarrassing moments. This last Sunday was Joel's first primary program and we got the part he was supposed to say a couple weeks ago. Joel's part was "Jesus Christ created the land."
We went and practiced it and even made a Lego microphone to practice talking in. Well, I think we practiced it a little too soon and Joel got a little bored with it. He thought he needed to add some things to it. It started out with "Jesus Christ created the land for diggers." We really did work on saying the right thing but it soon evolved into "Jesus Christ created the land for tower cranes." (tower cranes are the great big cranes used to build skyscrapers). So I though we had our part down the right way. At the practice he said it the right way.
So we get to his part in the program during sacrament meeting (there were 103 kids participating in our ward) and sure enough, he gets up there as proud as can be with a big smile on his face and says "Jesus Christ created the land for tower cranes."  I don't know how many people even caught what he said because he said it so fluently --- like he had been practicing it for years. But, I sure heard what he said! And yes, it was kinda funny and our bench was shaking just a little as we were all laughing! Can't wait to see what we add in next year!

awesome. Our ward is letting the kids come up with their own lines. The sunbeams are cute. One little boy is going to say, "Jonah is my favorite prophet because he ends up on the beach." So Joel should come here, his tower crane will fit right in!!

Oh my havens!!! How cute!! I love it! Our ward also let the kids come up with some fill in the blank stuff. Sara's was "I can keep my temple clean by____" Her answer? "By taking a bath." Kids are great.
